Configuration and Installation

As a newcomer to the Acumatica environment, I'm currently navigating the process of transferring our locally hosted Acumatica Production data to our Test environment. The aim is to refresh the Test environment as part of our preparations for an upcoming upgrade. At present, the data in our Test environment is outdated, and we need to ensure that it aligns with the latest information from Production.While we have customizations in place, I'm seeking a comprehensive, step-by-step guide that can walk me through the backup and deployment procedures. My goal is to gain a clear understanding of the necessary actions to successfully transfer and deploy a fresh copy of data from our Production environment to our Test environment.Any guidance or insights into this process would be immensely appreciated. 

Hi,I am facing an  error in  numbering sequence.Scenario :- I have created a snapshot from tenant screen in acumatica ( settings only snapshot). But when I restored this snapshot the numbering sequence gets reset to starting and the numbering sequence which was there in the instance while creating snapshot is been reset.Eg:- suppose I am using Bill of Material and my numbering sequence as :- Starting Number - BOM000001 to End Number - BOM999999and Last Number - BOM000037So, When I create a snapshot from settings only and when I restored this on new tenant or instance it reset my last number to BOM000000 and when I create Bill of material it creates duplicate.I have created CD field as my primary key in  DAC and Database table. Then also getting same issue. Is there any way in acumatica to resolve this and also is there any function in acumatica as OnImport and if then how can we use and where we can use it.??Please suggest a solution for this.??Regards,Dhruv

Hello all,I would like to know apart from the Projects screen, where is the PROJECT segmented keys being used in Acumatica? Recently I tried to import some of the project records but some of them weren’t imported. Upon analysing, i found out that the Project ID that I had been trying to import is of 11 characters whereas under the segmented keys form it is only set to 10. Now I deleted the project records and tried to change the character length to 11, but it throws the following error:

I recently had to rebuild my development laptop. I am on Windows 10, running IIS (Version 10.0.19041.1) and Sql Server Development system.When I go to install a new 2022 R2 application, I am running into issues when I go to create the new Website. (It seems to be connecting to SqlServer just fine.)It sees no web site or application pool. I get these popups: And there is no website listed in the selection box:  But there should be since it is in IIS:  So… why isn’t it seeing the Default Web Site? It is there. I can browse it:  What am I missing?

If you are using Acumatica with a Chinese localization,  you will need to make some changes if you intend to print via PDF.  The symptom is that when you print Chinese characters and it is rendered into an external pdf. When you open the pdf the text is not viewable.  In report writer there are a number of templates that supply the report you are editing with pre defined styles.     You can load these into report writer as they are configured in a special report. Known as a template  There are at least three that I have seen 1) Internal 2)external 3)report All these templates have default setting of Ariel The fix is to change these too Microsoft JhengHei  You need to go into each template and adjust the style from Ariel to Microsoft jhengHei  Once you change the templates you up load them a report versions to the tenant.   Run the report.   The report now with Chinese characters or English characters will properly be readable with an acrobat reader 

Over the weekend we upgraded from 2022 R1 to 2023 R2.  Prior to this we were using IMAP to send emails through our Exchange server.  We haven’t had any issues with this method until after the upgrade.  Now we are getting an error “The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.”.  Our certificate is not invalid.  We have been told that Microsoft has deprecated Basic Authentication and they have, for Exchange Online.  However Modern Authentication just became available in CU13 in May of 2023 and we were using it sucessfully in Acumatica until the upgrade.Has anyone else run into this issue and if so how did you fix it?  Thursday is ACH day and we will have over 200 remittance advices to send out.  We really don’t want to use the Exchange integration because we don’t want it that involved in our emails but we do need the ability to send out order confirmations, shipping confirmations, ACH notifications etc.

Hello All,I have been trying to apply restriction groups on Subaccounts. When I created a restriction group with Group Type as A or B , it is not getting applied to any of the accounts. But when I try using A Inverse, it gets applied.Also, when I try to create one more restriction group with A, it still shows the same as it is showing for the above but when I try to create another restriction group with Group type A Inverse then it only shows me the subaccounts that I had restricted in the first one (of type A Inverse).How can I resolve this?

Hello All,We’ve setup a Business event that triggers the users for an AP check but currently it displays the info to whom the report is being sent instead of the vendor name in the report.The yello highlighted field displays the info of the receiver instead of the vendor. How can I resolve this? But when I run this particular report manually in the system, it displays the correct vendor info. ​​​​​​​

This should be very easy to do, but I cannot find an easy solution.  I have 26 employees who now report to a different supervisor.  Is there not a way to simply change all 26 employees “SupervisorID” at one time?Do I have to write a GI with Mass Update to do this?  That seems like a major oversight in very simple administration if that is how I have to do that.Thank you,

I have an employee that had 2 emails (RC and RS).  She was added to Acumatica as a userid with the email (RC) using Active Directory.  Then an  employee record was created and attached to that (RC) user id.The email (RC) associated with her userid is no longer going to be used.  I need to add her to Acumatica with her new email and userid for (RS) and associate that new userid/email with her employee record.I am running into 2 issues:I do not see her new email when I use the Add Active Directory User button.   How do I associate a new user id with an employee record when the employee record shows the previous userid disabled under the user info tab on the employee form.Can I delete her old userid (RC)?  And if I do, if I try to add her new userid (RS email), will it show list the new email address under the Active Directory button?If I delete her old userid (RC) and create a new one with her new (RS) email, will it allow me to associate this new userid to her employee record?

Hello All,I have been trying to apply restriction groups to subaccounts. So basically, when I created a user with the role as GL Clerk in my localhost, and created a restriction group for subaccounts. And it successfully gets applied as shown below:  But when I created the same user with the same role, and restriction it doesn’t get applied. i tried to unpublish all the customizations and checked out still not getting applied. Also checked out if the resoective features have been enabled.So what is the missing point here?Kindly guide. Thanks.

hello all,I am getting confused between the restriction group types A & B. I tried to experiment this by: So now , as per the above screenshots the system would now restriction the user Pam Brawner to have access to the selected 2 subaccounts.Now when I created a new group type B:for the same user So now if I would select the 2nd Subaccount, would that mean that now the system wont show the subaccounts selected under both Groups A & B for the same user or what? I am getting confused here. Would like your guidance in this.Thanks in advance.

We are looking for a solution to only approve a PO if it receive at least 2 approvals from a group. We have not been able to figure this out yet.

Hello,I am new to Acumatica and have been looking for ways to create restriction groups on the basis of Departments of the Employees. I would also then like to only allow the usage of those subaccounts (has segments divided) that refer to the respective departments and then would only allow the usage of Sales Orders based on those departments. How can I implement this?Thanks in advance.

I need to give one of our roles access to add contacts, and to add contacts as a recipient to emails (such as Order Confirmation), while having view only for everything else regarding customers.If I give the role edit access on the Customer node, the role gets the access I want. So, I am assuming the access is somewhere within the customer node.But, I can’t find which sub-node or nodes needs to be set.Can anyone give guidance?
