I have a request from a client to delete all “Canceled” Service ContractsI tried adding a delete button to the Service Contracts GI.This resulted with: Error: The record cannot be deleted. Different approach: I tested using a SQL DELETE in my local Acumatica instance database.to bulk delete all existing Service Contracts that have a status of “Canceled” DELETE FROM [FSServiceContract] WHERE Status = 'X'This appears to have deleted all the Service Contracts that have a Status of “Canceled”, which is what the customer wants. Note: This SQL approach does bypass business rules in this module. Question: Is there a better (preferred) approach to deleting Service Contracts that have a Status of “Canceled”?My customer requests:Bulk delete all of the Service Contracts that have a status of “Canceled”. Give them the ability to delete Service Contracts that have a status of “Canceled” on their own.Thank you in advance.Ken Severud
In situations where a service company performs a repair on a Service Order / Appointment, then realizes that the invoice should be sent to a party such as an insurance company, how might they process an appropriate invoice? There may be different 3rd parties for a customer, so parent/child companies won’t work Copying the service order to a new one for the insurance company looses appointment log information, signatures, attachments, etc. Creating service orders and appointments with may detail lines and log lines is tedious and error-proneWhat other work-arounds might be simpler?
I know I’m missing a step, but I can’t remember what it is. If I go to Receivables > Invoices & Memos > then Reverse/Apply to Memo to void an invoice, the service order appointments do not reappear in Run Appointment Billing. What step am I missing? Essentially, the process is that an invoice was created and released, but it needed to be voided and reinvoiced because it was inaccurate. Applying the credit memo through reverse/apply to memo successfully voids it, but how do the service order appointments return to a billable state?
A service organization with set work teams will have the same team members on all of the team’s appointments. On the calendar board, there will be one row (or column, depending on display setting) for each team member. Most of these rows will be redundant. Is there any way to eliminate or hide redundant calendar board rows? Could the rows be limited to the employee selected as the primary driver on the staff tab, perhaps?
how to track PM’s on your company equipment ? is there a way it will send PM reminders at all ?
We are a field service company. We have multiple staff on one appointment and may have multiple appointments in one day. I want to minimize any pain with using tablets and software in the field. We are experiencing several “pain points” in Acumatica and I’m interested discussing how others are solving or working around issues. Some of our Big Pain Points:Appointments: Workflow no longer restricts what actions can be performed.Appointments: Paused status, staff can start a new log line. Once Appointment is Started, another log line is added.Appointments: Once Appointment is complete and a needs to be reopened, it clears the logs or if the Timecard is processed, you can’t Reopen.Appointment: It takes too many clicks to Pause, Start, Complete a line. Expectation is it should function like a stop watch or the old time punch cards.Appointment: When completing one appointment and starting another, time is lost or a back date has to take place by the staff. It would be ideal if there was some
I’ve noticed that invoicing sales orders removes inventory (creates an inventory issue and releases it), but invoicing service orders only creates the inventory issue and does not release it. So the invoice dr debtors, cr stock sales, but the other half of the transaction (dr cost of stock sales, cr inventory) hasn’t happened. Is there a reason for this inconsistency or is it a setup issue? I really feel that users who are invoicing shouldn’t need to release the inventory issue manually, it’s an unnecessary extra step.
I am using the external tax provider and this is causing me to not be able to unclose appointments without disabling the external tax provider. How would I fix the taxes so they are up to date so it no longer causes this error?
When I try to unclose an appointment I get the following message. Another process has updated the ‘FSAppointment’ record. Your changes will be lost. Is there any way to stop this from happening? It is preventing me from being able unclose appointments.
When we enter a service order with line discounts, if that line item is serialized, it won’t forward the discount % or discount amount to the invoice. It will for non-serialized stock items. This just occurred this week when the customer upgraded to 2020R2 latest build
In Field Service we mostly care about the service address, which would be the Customer Location address. We need to be able to have the user, in the Service Order screen, enter in an address and have the system match it to a customer record and populate the Customer field and the Location field with the match. I am not a developer and would like to know if this is addressable either by a Workflow type customization. I have tried using Actions/Navigation:Search Records but the closest I have come is to allow a popup of the Customer Location GI. This could possible work if the user could use the popup GI and search the address, select the customer and have it populate in the Customer field with the corresponding Location ID. Any ideas or pointers would be great. Thanks.
Has anyone found an elegant way to create shift schedules for organizations with rotating shifts? We are trying to configure a system for an organization with multiple branch locations. There may be a few basic shift patterns (e.g. two weeks on day shift, then 1 week on night shift). They want a simpler way to have employees’ scheduled available hours on the calendar boards to change according to their weekly shift.
We have a service order that has an appointment with a status of “in process”. On the appointment are some links to purchase orders that we want to remove, but it won’t let us take “mark for PO” off. The PO is empty. We need to move forward and invoice this service order but can’t seem to get past this, is there something I’m missing in terms of removing the PO from the Service Order?
is it possible to automatically show approved PTO from the Acumatica payroll module in the service calendar boards so that appointments are not set when techs are out on PTO?
I think that the Appointment Screen should be updated with better information for Billable/Costs/Profitability.The term Billable is used in many places in the Appointment Screen but is not consistent in its use. The Details Tab has a billable field to mark if a line is to be billed to the customer. The Log has a Billable Amount/Labor/Time but it’s left blank and should be ignored it if you track employees time to the Appointment. The Profitability Tab has Billable Qty/Amount fields that stay blank even though you have cost on the Details Tab. Even though the Profitability Tab shows negative profit for service lines we should just know to ignore it. Lines that have no cost but a Billable amount show a Profit $ but a 0% Profit Percent. The Header Profit information is pulling from the Detail Tab but how do we know that? This is all confusing and I understand it can be explained but it should be simplified/renamed/noted so that users do not have to second guess where to look and what to ig
So… until 2 weeks ago, my customers were able to multi-select using the shift key and then click download on the files pop-up frame and the selected files would sequentially download. We’ve been doing this for 9 months. Now, all of a sudden it doesn’t work. We’ve changed settings on all browsers to allow multiple for the various domains. I’ve tested multiple browsers, local, IIS configurations Local against our cloud configuration to no avail. We use AWS to serve up our documents, we have negated AWS in testing scenarios, I find nothing in any setting on ACM… I am at a loss and about to lose customers because of this file transfer issue. Anyone know what happened?
Since our policy is that any time spent on a service appointment after 4:30 is considered overtime, we want the overtime rate to be used automatically in calculating the total labor on invoice. Are there any suggestions on how to do this? Or would it be a customization?
I have a need to reopen in bulk a large amount of appointments. However, when I try to use an import scenario, only my notes are getting updated and my calls to the action menu and dialog responses seems to not be functioning. Any help would be appreciated. I receive a green check and everything processes when I run so I have no trace items to troubleshoot why the menu items are not being activated.
In our previous system we were able to pay commissions to field techs. I’m currently working with Symfintek on how to accomplish this in Acumatica. Are their any other service companies that would be interested in commissions paid to service staff based on the Invoiced Service Orders? The end goal is to payout on the difference of estimated vs actual hours in some fashion. So that if the techs do better than the estimate they would be rewarded.
I’m looking to share feedback and discuss best practices with other Field Service module users, particularly with companies using the Calendar Board to dispatch technicians. Our company is looking to efficiently dispatch techs on 700+ service order appointments a month. We’re challenged with the limitations of the calendar board and we’re interested in hearing how other users are managing efficiently. If interested in collaborating, email me at sean@hopebuilders.com! Thank you to the community for continued support!
Does anyone know a way to update user profiles without using the Login as User option? I have tired to create an import to do this and found I have a rights issue. I’m not sure if I’m missing something with access rights but thought I would put it out to the community in case anyone has had success with this. The use case I have is to change the Default Branch Location and Service Order types for employees. Thanks, Greg
hello I want to ask, previously I could use the api purchase order on 2020R1 but for the use of api cancel purchase orders on acum2021R2 I couldn't, is there a reference I can check?
In the Employee Time Activities Screen, we have both Projects and Appointment Numbers in there. However, when we get to the Approve Time Activities Screen, the Release Time Activities Screen, and the Approve Time Activities Summary Screen, there is no concept of Appointments on that screen. Where does time on a Service Order/Appointment get approved? Should it not be summarized with all hours of a respective employee? We would need to see all hours for a respective employee in one spot for approval so as to know if their total hours are eligible for OT or anything else special.
In service order, after the service is completed not all the items were used, and some were returned. How to reflect the reduction of costs in the service order?
