Developing with Acumatica's Archiving Feature

For those who are unaware, there is a new archiving feature in 2023 R1. This feature, currently limited to Sales Orders and Shipments, allows users to manually or as a scheduled process set documents as ‘archived’ in the system according to a configured time horizon. The documents once archived are not deleted, but are labeled as archived. The purpose of this new feature is to increase performance and not to decrease database size. “..Archived documents are not included in the results of database queries executed during regular activities, such as opening generic inquiries, lookup tables, or tabs that load a list of records. As a result data retrieval performance improves.” -- Acumatica ERP Administration As an ISV developer, my team investigated this new feature to determine if our code would be affected. How to access sales order line note field from BCSalesOrderProcessor extension

We have extended BCSalesOrderProcessor to loop through the Big Commerce modifiers for a line item and append the description to the SOLine description field. It works well, but the problem is that if there are many modifiers the data exceeds the LineDescription field length of 255 characters and is truncated. Current code: public class BCSalesOrderProcessor_Extension : PXGraphExtension<PX.Commerce.BigCommerce.BCSalesOrderProcessor> { …. detail.LineDescription.Value = detail.LineDescription.Value + "\r\n" + GetModifiers(data); } GetModifiers is a function that retrieves the list of modifiers and values for the line. Options under consideration are: Write the description to the sales order line note (looking for syntax to do that) Create a custom field on SOLine with more characters OR Increase the field size of LineDescription on SOLine Thoughts or recommendations? Unable to Enable Custom Field on Branches (CS102000) Screen

Hi Community, I am facing a small issue while working on a customization. I have added a custom field on the Branches (CS102000) screen, which uses the LocationStand DAC. However, I am unable to enable this field. I have two dropdowns/combos I’ve added, and would like to control the visibility of the second menu based on the value of the first: I would like the second dropdown (Shot Peen) be visible if the first dropdown (Mold Part) = 1/Yes Would I set the visibility like this? Performance issues in the system caused by web service request

Hi everyone, I'm having trouble because I submitted a third-party service request to Acumatica and, using the information, created a selector control, but this affected performance and slowed down the system. The selector's instruction was: PXStringListAttribute.SetList<MyDac.field>(sender, row, values.ToArray(), values.ToArray()); Then, I used the RowSelected method where I requested the WS and set the information in the control, but it is very heavy because I need to make 4 different requests in this event handler. Do you know of any other ways to do this? I'd appreciate any help! :)

PXDefault default menu attribute

Hi all, I tried a low code customization to set a dropdown menu’s default value, and for some reason it’s not working. So I’m attempting to set the default via customized attribute like this: [PXDBInt] [PXIntList(new int[] {0, 1,}, new string[] {"No", "Yes"})] [PXDefault[(0)] [PXUIField(DisplayName="Mold or Part Texture?")] I’ve tried setting the default to 0, to No (no quotes) and “No”, and none of them seem to work… I must be doing something wrong! :) Any help appreciated.

PXSelector and Partial Search

I’m trying to create a custom field with a pxselector where I can type in partial text in the field and it shows the closest values when you do. This does partial text and right in the text box itself. Most fields do it that are pxselector. My understanding is that it was a property under aspx that did this. Under Grid Properties there is a FastFilterFields Shown below Its not working for me. I tried FilterByAllFields too, some fields use that. What am I missing? This is the behavior I am lookign for:

Processing Dialog box not appearing on Custom processing screen

Hello Community, I am building a custom processing screen in Acumatica and facing an issue where the processing dialog (popup) is not showing when I click "Process" or "Process All." Toolbar Button Translation Issue

Hello Acumatica Community, I am currently working on customizing the Tickets Screen (CR306000) in Acumatica and have added the following toolbar button within the aspx file: <px:PXToolBarButton Text="NOTIZ ERSTELLEN" Tooltip="Eine Interne Notiz erstellen" Key="AddActivityEN"> <AutoCallBack Target="ds" Command="NewActivityEN" /></px:PXToolBarButton> However, when displayed in the UI, the button text does not reflect "NOTIZ ERSTELLEN" ("Create Note" in German). Instead, it appears as "Create Notiz", where "Create" remains in English while "Note" is translated to “Notiz”. He seems to use the Activity Description here. I can’t seem to find out where i can translate this - or get rid of the “Create” as this doesn’t seem to appear in Translation Dictionaries. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Is there a risk in extending field lengths?

If we change the length of a standard Acumatica field, is there a risk that the field length will be reverted back on the database with an upgrade? Causing the extra characters to be truncated?

Extremely long wait time to view Customization Project popup window

I have just upgraded my Acumatica to the 2024 R2 version (24.204.0004) and I am having trouble viewing one of my customization projects. When I click on the project on the ‘Customization Projects’ page the popup window appears and spins for about 30-45minutes until some of the project details appear but then it continues to spin for 30+minutes (I still haven’t been able to fully load this project in the popup window). This customization project is pretty large but in the past it has only taken 3-5minutes to fully load. Is there a reason why this is taking longer with the 2024 R2 version or are there any methods to diagnose this issue? Any help/suggestions are highly appreciated!

Question about adding Fields to Mobile App

Very simple Request, adding the GL Account and Subaccount to the Details Section for the Bills and Adjustments when accessing through Approvals.Here is my attempt to add both ID and Description: “Account” and “Subaccount” are the only ones added and it is the Description that’s displayed rather than the ID. Tried a few different things without success. I always get the Description rather than the actual Account Number. Any ideas?
