Develop Customizations

We have a non stock item called DS - Drop Ship.  On the Sales Order Screen and while adding a new Inventory Item I type ds into the inventory field and as I type the first thing it comes up with is something with ds in the description, ignoring the Inventory Code which exactly matches.  Is there a way to alter the search to search by Inventory Code first before searching description or failing that to only look at the Inventory code and not the description for the search as you type functionality. Sorry if I am not using the correct terms but I hope you can understand what I mean. I exported a Project Package, then imported it on another server/instance. If I try to look at the Customization on the new server, it displays an Access Denied error. So I cannot see any of the contents. I added the new program to the site map, on the original server, but I don’t see it on the new server either. How do I add the new program to the site map?

Hi,The T200 series of documents states that you should be able to step into Acumatica code in debug mode using Visual Studio if you have installed Debugger tools.  Specifically:The install program I used to setup a local instance of Acumatica didn’t have any Install Debugger check box and I think as a consequence when I attempt to step into Acumatica code called from my customisation code, Visual Studio steps right over the function (ie. I can step through my own customization code but not the Acumatica code).  Screen shots of the install program used are as follows:I select Deploy New Application Instance, thenClick Next,Click Next,Click Next,Click Next,Click, NextClick Next,Click Finish, and the Install proceeds to an installation complete dialog box.No where along the process is there a check box to Install Debugger Tools.  What Am I missing?  Is there a difference between an Acumatica install and an MYOB install?  My current understanding is that these are the same things but with

Hello,I have a screen with a grid, which has AllowFormEdit property set to true and SyncPosition set to true.The data view of this grid has an order by clause.The issue is, when user switches from grid view to a form view by clicking "Pencil" button, the form view sometimes shows different record.If I remove order by clause in the data view, everything works fine.Have you encountered issue like this before and if so what could be the reason.ThanksEugene Golshtein

I would like to modify the Inventory ID lookup on AP301000 to pull from the Project Cost Budget on PM301000.  The only values which would be in the lookup would be the Inventory ID’s assigned to the Project Task.

Hey all, We are seeing an issue in 2021 R1 where if an order comes in with a future date, it messes up the sort order on the Allocation Details screen.  Because the sort doesn’t take into account the date, it just sorts by order number and so you have 3 orders together in the list but the middle one has a date 3 months in the future so users are accidentally printing pick lists for orders that don’t need to be filled.  The way that Acumatica returns the filterable ResultRecords dataset, it re-populates the list every time a filter is selected.  Trouble is that the CalculateResultRecords that it uses to filter the Result Records is protected.  I have tried overriding the ResultsRecords sort but it doesn’t get applied.  Can anyone help me figure out what is the right way to override the sort on this?  

I need to programmatically tie an email to a Case. The code I have makes some kind of association, because the email will display in the Case activities. Hello I am working with Acumatica Version: 20.213.0026. Every time I publish any customization, it takes forever to complete the process, it keeps on loading for more that 30-40 minutes. Regardless how loaded the customizations are, it shouldn’t take this long.Action after this:For local instance, I have to restart the service in IIS.For live environment: Create a ticket and let Acumatica support to forcefully stop and restart the service.(Happened twice on live and site was down for more than an 40-60 minutes.)I am not sure If anyone else encountered with similar issues and have a possible solution that I can try.I have already generated a ticket and support is looking into this issue.Any advice will be appreciated!Thanks

I have a method which is called after Acumatica original method is invoked. I know Acumatica’s base method when invoked, updates an existing record, creates another record with ifferent status and saves the changes. What I’m doing is to run some additional validations and if validations passed then allow to Acumatica’s base method be completed. To make this happen, I have enveloped everything into a TransactionScope. At the end either the whole process will be commited or rejected. I have put partial my code below. My problem is when I run the code outside the PXTransactionScope I can access both updated and inserted record and modify but when it is run inside the TransactionScope as they are not saved to DB after Acumatica’s base nmethod is invoked i can not access them and modify. I need this to happen inside a TS. I tried to access the Cache to see if the inserted and updated records are in Cache (Base.DACView.Cache.Cached) but I do not see the modification is passed to Cach either.

Is there a way to auto-number employee ID’s? I looked through Numbering Sequences and Employee Classes Preferences without luck. I’d like the person setting up new employees not have to find the last number to assign the sequential one after that.

I’m overriding on of Acumatica methods. This method is triggered when “Remove Hold” action is called. The method clears all records from Approval table. I would like to keep this records. So I have added a trigger on the table that restores any deleted record. My method is called after Remove Hold does it work. I would like to access the records restored by trigger and manipulate a certain record. What happens I can see the record exist in DB when I select from query analyzers but my method is not being informed and returns null value. How can I address this issue?

We wanted to add a field under the Employee record so we could select it when using “Employee from Document” in Approval Maps. The default fields in Employee were not working with the mapping. After many weeks, we found the solution.We created a custom field “Approver” and added it to the Employee record.  The DAC:[PXDBString(255)][PXUIField(DisplayName="Approver")][PXSelector(typeof(Users.username),SubstituteKey = typeof(Users.fullName))] The Problem:In the very deep backend SQL, Approvals for the “Employee” field when using “Employee from Document” is expecting a username value from Users.username. We were using bAccountID, defContactID, employeeID and every other ID in the system and nothing worked. The Solution:Now we can choose ((ClaimDetails.EmployeeID.UsrApprover)) and the Approvals work great 

I was contemplating how to document the contents of a customization project. I thought about adding a readme document as a File in the project. There are also Wiki options or perhaps a Code file that doesn’t get exported to the Extension library.This might include a change log so that I can include that with the project in a way that someone else can look at without having to go somewhere else to read what’s new/changed.How do you document your functionality and changes so that others can understand what the customization project is doing?

Hi,I have to calculate Values Based on Expression given for Individual Line.For Example:In Sales Order Screen Line Details I have 3 Items.Item 1 Qty Value Expression will be-- Item 2 Qty  + Item 3 Qty + 5 ;If I change Item 2 Qty, Then Automatic Item1 Qty will get default based on Item 1 Expression.. Expression will be Dynamic.Like this Concept how can I create Expression and Default the Calculations. Thanks,Giri. 

Is there any official or unofficial details about compatibility with Visual Studio 2022 for customization development and integration?  Any issues with developers using it now that it is released?

We have a project that will require some UI capabilities that just don’t appear to be possible with the current Acumatica toolset.  I know I could do what I need with some telerik or other third party html5 controls or even asp.net controls.  Is there any way to incorporate those into an Acumatica screen and use javascript or even the code behind to push/pull data into and out of the controls?

I have added a custom Action Button “CustomApprove” that I press it through an event handler. This action button then displys a SmartP Panel “RoutingPanelDialogData” with OK/Cancel buttons. When user clicks on OK, I expect the method resume from the point displayed the smart panel but when I trace doesn’t hit this point at all.
