How would you use Acumatica to track the cost of goods issued to a customer over the course of a year or more where the customer is billed monthly for services and stock items?Would you use projects? Service Contracts? Contracts? SP orders or Service orders? Or a combination of those features? Projects seems to be the only module that Acumatica advertises the ability to track cost and gross profit but it seems overkill for standard contractual businesses. It also doesn’t track cost in the cost budget from SP orders without some decent upfront configuration and maintenance of that configuration. Service Contracts/Service Orders doesn’t have the extensive report functionality that projects does and it doesn’t appear to have the ability to track the costs of issued materials from that service order on the service contract to get a good gross profit number the contracts module doesn't seem to allow the sale or issuance of stock items at all but it does seem to have all of the other functio

Meet Joel Hoffman our Acumatica Community Featured Member for March 2025. It’s great to have you as part of the Acumatica Community @joelhoffman!Hi everyone, I’m Joel Hoffman, Director of Product Management for Construction at Acumatica. I have been with Acumatica almost 6 years.Since graduating high school and thinking that “these computers may go somewhere”, I have been part of the technical community. I have spent most of my career in the Construction technology sector and witnessing how things evolved is incredible. I commend the companies that have been leaders in technical adoption and the ways construction has been improved, especially with constant change and challenges faced.I’m from the Philadelphia, PA area and enjoy the change of seasons we experience each year, from Winter to Spring, Summer and Fall. As an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles, where I have been a season ticket holder for more than 35 years, fall brings a

Hi, I'm David Gelula — the managing principal at Revive ERP, a dog lover, and now a proud Acumatica MVP for 2025. Being an Acumatica MVP is more than a title to me—it's an acknowledgment of Revive's company-wide culture of innovation, teamwork, and dedication. I oversee our corporate services at Revive—from finance and legal to HR.When I'm not running Revive, I'm probably running to vet appointments. I'm deeply involved in a cause that's close to my heart. I foster and care for special needs and hospice pups. My six fur babies at home are just the start of my lifelong mission to give every dog a second chance. Beyond work and dogs, I'm a huge Star Wars Superfan (yes, I've won the Star Wars Superfan contest three times on Disney Cruises!) and a dedicated supporter of my beloved Chicago Bears. I'm lucky to share my life—and my love for humanity's best friend—with my incredible wife and best friend, Becky. Thanks for stopping by to get to know me. I'm always open to new connections and op
Hello, my name is Eric Hugunin. I'm the COO/CFO for Phoenix. We are a general contractor and operate mostly in the insurance restoration industry, although our traditional general contracting lines are growing. We subscribe to the construction vertical and have been able to customize and tailor the Acumatica software to fit our specific needs as we have different service lines and metrics based on our niche services. In 2019, we started our ERP journey as we were still operating QuickBooks after 20 years in business. We were on the verge of imploding with our QuickBooks software due to the amount of data. We were 100% paper-based and untimely in our financial reporting. Acumatica was the #1 choice for us as it was cloud-based, allowed for customization, provided built-in CRM and GAAP revenue recognition, integrations with existing timekeeping software, among others... The software has allowed us to be entirely paperless in our invoicing, payables, and credit card transactions. We

Hi everyone, I’m Josh Wright! It’ll be a fun challenge to simplify and improve our custom work. Meeting more of you in person at Summit, in addition to my regular meetings with the Distribution CAB and the in-person Utah User Group! Please reach out if you would like to talk ideas and problems! I can help out with Distribution, Customization (C# and low-code), the test SDK, and Private Cloud Hosting.Personally, I like building and being outdoors —whether it’s home renovations, woodworking, or electronics. Hello friends, I’m Jennifer Douglas. I am a wife, and mother of three, as well as the Information Technology Manager for Tobacco Rag Processors, Wind River Tobacco, and US Tobacco de Mexico. I consider myself a professional chaos manager both at home and work. My children, 18, 10, and 8 are the center of my world and my reason for working as hard as I do. I love attending their club soccer tournaments, piano recitals, school events, and spending time nightly helping with homework and practices. It’s a nonstop full sprint every day and I try very hard to schedule any travel in such a way that I don’t miss the important events. I’ve included photos of my personal circus, from Easter last year, and the annual matching PJs for Christmas, with Pops and my daughters longtime boyfriend getting in on the fun.I come from a large Italian/Irish/Germain family and as the only girl I thrive in friendly competition. I played sports all through school and to this day don’t back down from a challenge.
Hi, I’m Dave Munson and I own Saddleback Leather Co. We make the longest lasting, over engineered leather bags in the world. Our bags are so durable that we offer a 100 year warranty. I designed the first bag while I was teaching English in Mexico over 20 years ago and I’ve survived terrorists, swindlers and an assassin to build the Saddleback brand. I’m married to my hot wife, Suzette and we have two children, Sela and Cross and a whole bunch more in Rwanda. We moved to the Fort Worth, TX area in 2016 and live in safari tents. I love traveling and meeting people all over the world. Probably the coolest experience I’ve had recently is walking with lion’s with a king in Zambia. Acumatica has helped our company by creating a seamless integration with our Ecommerce platform Big Commerce. Additionally, the customizable dashboards and modules have allowed us to tailor the platform to our unique needs. The real time inventory tracking, planning and data analytics and reporting have been
I’m Andrew Pistorius and I’ve been in the Acumatica community since 2022 when Mid-States made the jump from a combination of QuickBooks, spreadsheets and disconnected on-premise systems to Acumatica. I serve as CFO at the Iowa-based, family owned and operated business, but have had lots of experience with data, systems and reporting in my career, so I led the charge on implementation, user training, customization and process enhancements (along with the support of our VAR). It’s been really fun to find new corners of the system that can solve problems and enhance processes for the business, which has grown in both scale and sophistication since go-live. I’ve had the opportunity to present the last three years at Acumatica Summit on various ways we are finding success using Acumatica and enjoyed the conversations it sparked with others. We usually end up with a new idea from the Summit and have appreciated the organic nature of relationship building there.I’m from central Iowa, and th
Hi, everyone!I’m the Tech Solutions Director at Interastar and have been an Acumatica Developer since 2014. My expertise lies in architecture design and custom integrations. After attending my first Acumatica Summit in San Diego and participating in the first Acumatica Hackathon, I became actively involved in the Acumatica developer community. In 2018, I was honored to become an Acumatica Developer MVP. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of helping the community grow by writing blog posts, answering questions, speaking at Acumatica DevCon and Summit, participating in hackathons each year, and collaborating with fellow developers on open-source projects like Acumatica Surveys. For me, being an MVP means having a responsibility to help other professionals improve their skills with Acumatica so they can create value for themselves and their organizations. It also gives me the opportunity to connect with talented people, make new friends, and learn from their expertise.I live in Mexico City
