Thanks Debbie!I set it to “Not Allow” and tried again. It still does not limit the selection list of inventory IDs. It does stop you after you select and inventory ID not on the production order. The difficulty is in the selection itself. They have to copy and paste the inventory ID from the production order into the materials screen.
They backflush all labor and materials. They do not print production tickets or scan anything. After the production order is completed, they need to issue additional material if any of it was physically broken and they physically needed to grab more.
So if they need 5 of a material and one was broken. They do the one and only needed move transaction (there is only 1 operation) and all materials are backflushed. Then they do a materials transaction to issue the extra 1 piece that was physically used.
Angie,Thanks for the response. Right now, I don’t believe this needs to be an enhancement request. Thanks to you and Debbie for your suggestions!
Thanks for the response Robert.I heard back from them and they found the resolution.“I had some more time to work on that user's computer and found some custom sizing for fonts in Chrome, I reset it to default, restarted the browser and everything printed correctly.”
Pragati, thank you for confirming! I was looking for an automatic assignment, but you have confirmed this is a manual process. Thanks!
Thank you both!I had forgotten about the setting in Inventory planning to choose reorder point or safety stock. It seems you can only choose 1 method for all stock items.Since efforts were made to limit inventory planning settings on the stock items screen to only prompt for fields that are used by MRP when MRP is the planning method, I intend to open an enhancement request to drop “Max Quantity” since MRP does not utilize this. Please let me know if I misinterpreted this from your response. Or if it is an inappropriate ask. Thanks again!
Thanks for holding my hand and explaining with screen shots! Very helpful!
Well it makes perfect sense when someone points out that you should read ALL the words…….Thanks again!

Mani….I showed what I want, but that is not what I am getting. This is what I am getting:
Still not resolved but I should be able to get it from this. Thanks for taking the time to assist!!!
Paul,Thanks for the response. This is close, but I don’t believe it is exactly what I am asking. In your example above, if I get demand in either warehouse I want to manufacture it.So if a sales order is entered for either RETAIL or WHOLESALE, and I don’t have any on the shelf, I want to manufacture it.However, if inventory exists in the other warehouse, I don’t want to manufacture it, I want to transfer it to the warehouse where I need it.Can this be done?
