Hello everyone, so one of my clients they have transactions using other currency. We already set up module currency management, rate transaction, etc, but why there is no menu for Financials Statement or budget report using other currency. Do we need to add customization report in Acumatica to display the menu?
Our base currency is IDR and the other currency we want to added for the report is USD.

Please help me to solve this, I really appreciate, thank you.

Hi @dinda56 ,

You do not need to build a custom report or add a customization. Acumatica already ships with the ability to run financial statements (Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, P&L, etc.) in a foreign currency. The key is how the report parameters and GL setup are configured.
Here's what to check and do:
1. Verify Currency Management Setup
- GL Preferences (GL.10.20.00): Confirm your base currency is IDR and that multi-currency is enabled.
- Currencies (CM.20.20.00): Confirm USD is defined and active.
- Currency Rate Types: Make sure you have a rate type designated for financial reporting/translation (e.g., a "SPOT" or "FINSTMT" rate type).
- Currency Rates (CM.30.10.00): Ensure rates are entered for the periods you want to report on.

Hope above helps!!

Acumatica handles this out of the box, but the reports don't automatically show other currencies. Reporting in a currency other than your base currency is done through a separate reporting ledger.

Here's how it works:

Every financial report in Acumatica (Balance Sheet, P&L, etc.) runs against one or more ledgers, and each ledger has its own currency. Your posting ledger holds transactions in your base currency (IDR in your case). To report in USD, you create a reporting ledger of type "Reporting" with USD as its currency, then run the currency translation process to populate it.

The setup steps:

  1. In the Ledgers screen (GL201500), create a new ledger with type Reporting and currency USD. As an example, in our own company we have our main posting ledger named ACTUAL, and a USD reporting ledger named ACTUALAU.
  2. Set up a translation definition in Translation Definitions (CM203000). This is where you define which accounts translate at the current rate, historical rate, or weighted average rate, per your accounting standards.
  3. Run Translate Financial Statements (CM301000) to perform the translation. This is a separate process you run periodically, typically as part of your month-end close, after all transactions are posted.
  4. When running any financial statement or ARM report, simply select your USD reporting ledger instead of the actual ledger. The report will now display in USD. Depending on your ARM Report Definition, the ledger may be defaulted and it’s possible you’re not being prompted to selected a ledger. If you want multiple currencies side-by-side, you'll need to update the Column Set linked to the report to add a second column showing your USD ledger.

The key point that trips people up: translation is not automatic or real-time. The reporting ledger only contains data up to the last time you ran the translation process, so make it part of your close checklist.

Budgets work the same way. You can create a budget ledger in USD if you want to budget and compare in that currency.
