Hi, I am new in Acumatica, My goal is to hide/show customization menu(New screen, GI) or my workspace items without depending on Acumatica Licensing or Features.xml, the cleanest approach is to make the visibility depend on my own configuration/permission, not Acumatica's licensing feature mechanism.

@ashrivastava42  Recommended approach

Create a custom configuration/permission that controls the visibility of your customization items:

Custom Configuration

  • Create a setup/preferences DAC, for example:
    • UsrEnableCustomizationMenu
  • Add the setting to your own Setup/Preferences screen.
  • Use this setting when determining whether your custom menu/workspace items should be exposed.

Permissions

  • Create a dedicated Acumatica role/permission for your customization, for example:
    • Customization Menu Access
  • Assign that permission only to users who should see the functionality.

Then your effective condition becomes:

Show customization items
=
Custom Configuration Enabled
AND
User Has Custom Permission

This keeps the logic completely independent of:

Features.xml
Acumatica licensing
Acumatica feature flags

For Workspace / Menu Items

For items that you own/control, I would avoid modifying the standard Acumatica menu hierarchy globally. Instead, define your customization entries and control their availability based on your configuration/permission.

Conceptually:

bool showCustomizationMenu =
setup.UsrEnableCustomizationMenu == true
&& PXAccess.VerifyRights(customAccessRights);

Then apply that condition when your customization determines whether the menu/workspace item is exposed.
