Scrap qty issue on pre assignment Serial track with Include scrap in completion checkbox is unchecked in production preference

 I have one production order with two operations and 3 qty, serial track and Include scrap in completion checkbox is unchecked in production preference screen.

Now I have created one production order with 3 qty, three serial lot SRF000131, SRF000132 and SRF000133 Generated on production order released.

Now I have created first move operation for first operation, 1 qty scrapped (SRF000131) with scrap Action quarantine and qty is scrap checked, and other two qty I have moved.

Now I have created second move operation for second operation, I have moved all 3 qty but error is coming "Error: Serial Number 'SRF000131' for item 'AAMACHINE1' is already received".

I have already unchecked Include scrap in completion checkbox in production preference screen. same case for lot track is allowed to move operations.

why different behaviors for lot track and serial track...please suggest ..Thanks

The reason for this different behavior is that the Quarantine option creates a Receipt on the background for the item sent to quarantine, which uses using assigned serial number. And because in the case of a serial number, it should be unique, you cannot use this number anymore

The Include Scrap in Completion setting is to control whether the scrapped goods should be counted towards the quantity to produce value of the Production Order.

If I am to make 10 finished goods, and 1 scrap one… now do I need to make another (11) or should the scrapped finished good be counted in the production quantity.

In your scenario, once you scrap the finished good, it is no longer available for future operations.

In this case I have to manually complete production order because I do not have lot which I have scrapped so I am not able to move all qty.

Hi angierowley75, in my case I have Exclude scrap qty and when I am using scrap action as quarantine and provide reason code then serial lot is not available in next operation.

But when I have used scrap Action like No Action or Write-off then serial lot is available in next operation.

So, my question is for Serial track with pre assignment if I have Exclude scrap qty from production order preference then why it is considering serial lot scrap qty.

Its behaviors are same whether scape qty is include or exclude in case of serial track.
