I would like to “explode” a Bill of material against a Parent (FG) quantity. I have not found a way to do this- other requirements to run it through MRP. My company uses contract manufacturers, and we need to create scenarios on lower-level components.
In Most ERPs systems this is a very basic function-so I am not sure what I am missing

I’m not sure I understand the question. Are you looking for a report the shows the different levels of the BOM?
When you say “we need to create scenarios on lower-level components” can you provide an example of the functionality you are looking for? Are you talking about planning scenarios from Sales Forecasts or from Master Production Schedules?
No you are other thinking it. If I want to make 10,000 parents(usually Finished Good), how many componet do I need ? It multiplies the BOM usage for each component time the number of FG. Assuming on BOM = 1 FG unit.
