+1I have an import scenario that creates a new record (in this case, it generates a PO based on the lines selected in a GI from the Project Budget). The current downside, is that I don’t know how to make the Import Scenario automatically open the PO that was just created (because the user still has more work to do after they first create it).
Is there an action of some sort to open the new saved record created in a pop up window?
+13There is no mechanism, as far as I know, to open a record from an Import Scenario.
The only solution I can think of is to create a custom action within a customization that opens the current record in a new tab/window and call that from the Import Scenario. I have no idea if it would actually work.
For this type of problem, I create a GI import scenario business event to run the tasks on the new screen. Sometimes I will add a UDF to identify that the task was created from the other process.
In your new GI, you will only display the records that were just recently created by your import scenario. Once the PO is updated, you will need to filter these transactions out either by using the new field/action values or by using another UDF that marks the PO as updated. This type of update would run on a schedule.
