I am trying to close financial periods in Finance → Manage Financial Periods. I am unable to close September due to an open A/R credit. Is there any way to process the closing of this month prior to the credit being used/applied?

hello,
It seems like you have a Credit that is not released in AR Invoices & Memos screen, or a Credit that is applied to an Invoice but not yet released.
If you’d like to close Sept. without releasing the document in question, please update the Post Period on the Credit, and save.
If needed, after closing the period of Sept. you may change the Post Period back to Sept on the CM document, if you are a member of Financial Supervisors role.
