Hi Acumatica Community,

We are planning to proceed with the period closing and would like to seek your recommendations on which reports can be used to validate the subsidiary ledgers against the Trial Balance.

Specifically, we would like to validate the following subsidiary ledgers:

  • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Inventory
  • Fixed Assets
  • Cash

Our objective is to perform an additional validation to ensure that the balances in the subsidiary ledgers reconcile with the corresponding General Ledger (GL) balances reflected in the Trial Balance before we proceed with the period closing.

We would appreciate any recommendations on the appropriate Acumatica reports or reconciliation procedures that can be used for this purpose.

Thank you in advance for your guidance and recommendations.

Hello,

When reconciling AR to the GL, I recommend Period Sensitive Aged AR.

When reconciling AP to the GL, I recommend Period Sensitive Aged AP.

When reconciling IN to the GL, I recommend Historical Inventory Valuation.

When reconciling FA to the GL, I recommend FA Balance by GL Account.

Completing the Reconciliation Statement process in Banking reconciles Banking to GL. Bank reconciliation may occur on a different schedule or frequently than closing a month, and GL is successfully matched to Cash when completed. Cash may be reconciled before or after closing the Banking module in GL.

In AR, AP, IN and Fixed Assets cases, consider whether you need to compare the subsidiary report to *more than one GL account*.   For example, Prepayments on Aged AR  may post to a liability such as Customer Deposits. Employee Receivables may be posted to a separate asset account.

I hope this information helps you.
