Session timeout is set to 1h by default in the web.config file.
When a user has exceeded the session timeout, they may not be aware.
Can there be a warning message or pop up message informing them so they are aware they on a “stale” screen?

@ltussing03 Not ahead of time, at least not in 2026 R1. Neither the Modern UI nor the Classic UI runs a countdown or idle timer, so nothing warns the user while the session is running out.
The notice comes on the user's next action that goes back to the server, like a save, a lookup, or opening another record. The browser pops a confirm box:
"You are currently logged off. Would you like to log in?"
OK takes them to the sign-in page with a return link to the screen they were on. Cancel leaves them on the stale screen, and every server action from it brings the same box back.
If you want a warning before the timeout hits, post it in the Ideas section. I'll vote for it.
