Replenishment Seasonality - why does it require dates with years?

Why does the “Replenishment Seasonality” settings require dates with years?

If I want to define “SUMMER” as June 1st to August 31st this will be the same every year but I need to change the dates in the Seasonality settings each year?  

Is there a way to define the Seasonality with just day & month?
