We are testing the modern UI in 2025R2, and are no longer able to drag a file from Windows Explorer on to an Acumatica screen and have it upload to the Files area. When trying this, the file appears to go directly to the workstation's Downloads folder.
So far, to make it work we have to click on Files, then drag and drop to that window.
This is a minor inconvenience, but I couldn’t find anything on it in the 25R2 release notes so wondering if we are missing something. Anyone else seeing this or aware of documentation on the change?

Hi @Andy Smith and Everyone,
The behavior you’re seeing is actually expected in Acumatica 25R2.
Currently, drag-and-drop is not supported in the area shown in Image 1
while it is supported in the Upload File section (Image 2). So the difference in behavior between the two areas is by design in this version.
This limitation has already been raised as a Community Idea for future consideration and enhancement of the feature.

@Omar Ghazi - I believe the original functionality was being able to drag the file into the FORM header. Like not connected to the files dialog at all.
Update: We are on track to bring this functionality back to Modern UI starting 2026 R1 Beta. You will be able to drag files into an Acumatica record, not just in the form header area. And it will not just open the file in browser preview.
@Omar Ghazi The functionality missing is a huge miss and is a barrier for customers to be able to transfer to the modern UI. Any chance we see it in a patch or service pack for 25R2?
