Do Acumatica has a way to prevent users from changing their password to the same password they are currently using? If this functionality is not available out of the box, please advise on the recommended approach to implement this requirement.

At the present time, functionality to prevent a user from using the same password when prompted to change their password does not exist.

You will want to look into customization in order to accommodate this.

You could potentially add a FieldUpdating handler for Users.Password and check the new & old values do not match. I wouldn’t say I recommend messing around with the system maintenance screens though!
