Hi @Arlene
Acumatica does not currently automate kit creation. This is a customization. I had a client recently who had the same need. I could not find an app to handle this.
@kandybeatty49 Thanks for your reply! We’re OK to manually create kits Acumatica. We are looking to automate the update of inventory in Shopify for kits. Since kits are held as a non stock item in Acumatica, there is no inventory associated with the kits SKU. The inventory is associated to the kit components. We want to automate the inventory update from Acumatica to Shopify using the Acumatica Shopify connector for these kit components and then have an app in Shopify that will link the component inventory to the Kit SKU.
Is your client using Shopify?
Hi @Arlene
They are using Big Commerce but neither does the kit qty.
This is a huge issue for us as well - we have thousands of non-stock kits that essentially bundle various stock items that can also be sold individually, however it is impossible to sync inventory quantity data for these kits to Shopify. (Though we would be looking to sync the potential qty available per kit to Shopify.)
I’d also appreciate any suggestions regarding the best way to handle this; I can’t imagine we’re alone in this need.
@mikeho we are testing the Shopify 3rd party app Fast Bundle. You can create bundles (kits) with lots of options. Biggest bonus is the combined price management and availability tracking. It uses the synced on hand availability of the stocked components to calculated on hand available for the kit. Sure wish Acumatica could do that.
Only issue we are having is when we sync the non-stock item it overrides the price (problem if you are using a discount on the store for the kit) and it turns of inventory tracking (since it’s a non-stock item).
We are going to only sync one time since continuous syncing is not really necessary. Really the only thing you need to realtime sync for bundle items is the stock component items. Those are what’s used to calculate price and inventory.
Also, you might want to check out https://www.acumatica.com/acumatica-marketplace/biztech-kit-processing/ has the option of exploding kits to the components at the sales order with the kit as a header item. It will sum the prices/quantity of the kit items to determine final price. It even takes into account customer price lists.
