Hi All, I created and released a negative Move transaction in my Production Order accidentally. It has generated a Material transaction as well. Then I created a positive Move transaction hoping I could just reverse them that way, but the cost captured in Materials transaction were different.

The Move transactions did not have impact on finished goods inventory. I am running some tests to work with reversing them, but how do I go about reversing these transactions properly? Many thanks in advance!

As per my testing, I created another Material transaction for the negative material (screenshot in my post) via copy function from clipboard, but the cost captured is not correct. It captured 18.10 unit cost instead of pulling the cost from copied transaction. Looks like it is pulling the current cost. Can someone help me to properly correct this?

Depending on how you have your items set up, it should be pulling the current cost. If you are using average cost, I would expect to see the numbers be different if there were significant changes in inventory cost. In your case, 18$ change is a lot!

Thanks @jdobish - Looks like I just need to do a WIP adjustment and adjust inventory level as well.

When a negative Materials transaction is created by the Move the cost should be the cost issued previously.  If there was no actual cost issued previously then it might have used the planned cost from the material line.  If the valuation method is FIFO then it would have used the FIFO cost layer for the positive materials transaction.  Two things to check: the planned cost on the Material Line of the production details; the transaction history for the materials item showing the costs of all transactions.  And of course the valuation method of the material,
