Obtaining current exchange rate using API

I cannot seem to find anything on the API that returns currency exchange rates.  Is it possible to get to these?

I have come across an answer stating that Acumatica uses https://openexchangerates.org/ internally as the source of exchange rate data, but if we have the exchange rates already it seems superfluous to have to subscribe to another service to get them.

Hi @ebenroux,

Have you gone through This link?
I believe you need to add the fields to an object linked to the Payment end point.

Hope, it helps!

@Dipak Nilkanth

That isn’t quite what I’m after.

I need to be able to query a currency exchange rate for, say, a date (or range) from one currency to another.  In my case I need ZAR <=> USD.  This isn’t for any specific Acumatica operation, rather we need the exchange rates in order to feed them to another system that also performs currency conversions.

Not sure what you are trying to do, but if you are looking for a Free Exchange Rate API, I use this one. Very easy to use and you get 100 calls per month. More if you want to pay.

Hi @keithschm,

Yes, I do want exchange rates.

According to this discussion, Acumatica uses https://openexchangerates.org/ to obtain the exchange rates.  After reaching out to someone in our organisation, it turns out that we already have a subscription to the service.

I gather from all this that it is then *not* possible to obtain currency exchange rates from the Acumatica API.

Regards,

Eben

I see what you mean. It is not in the default endpoint, and I do not see the object when I try to extend it. Maybe someone else has an idea?

But if you already have a subscription, you should be able to make a call to their API instead of Acumatica to get the rates you need.
