Acumatica forms delete buttons displays a delete confirmation when click on the recycle bin but in the data entry grids when user clicks on “-” or presses the “Delete” key the line is deleted without any prompt. I was wondering:

is there any way to enable "Delete" prompt in Acumatica Data Enty grids without overriding the codes? or

Is it possible to disable the “Delete” key press that doesn’t delete the row?

The problem is it happens often users do not double click into a grid cell to highlight the test and then hit the delete button. They just click on the cell and press the delete buttom that results in deleting the whole row.

@aaghaei As far as I know, hot keys are not user-configurable. But I am not certain.

Hopefully someone else in the community can provide more input.

Hi @aaghaei

is there any way to enable "Delete" prompt in Acumatica Data Enty grids without overriding the codes?

Acumatica does not offer this functionality OOB. It would require some type of customization in either the RowPersisting event, or either overriding or re-defining the Delete button in the grid. I would try to lean more to the latter as invoking smartpanels from within event handlers is not a typical Acumatica flow.

Is it possible to disable the “Delete” key press that doesn’t delete the row?

Yes - this is possible with a minor customization. See image below.
However, if you implement it, it will not be possible to delete lines at any moment (it is not dynamic).

Example on Sales Orders page

@Fernando Amadoz thank you for your response. I meant disabling “Delete” hot key from keyboard not hiding/disabling “-” button from grid.
