Outlook Plugin not usable with Modern Authentication, where's the fix?

We upgraded to 2025 R2 build 25.200.0248.3 and are disappointed to learn that after the plugin “fix” was announced there is a current bug/issue and it cannot be used with Modern Authentication.

Wondering how many other customers out there have Modern Authentication?  Can we push Acumatica for a fix in 2025R2?

As of late we heard Acumatica is are aware of this issue with the modern authentication, but there is currently no fix for it.  We’ve been anxiously waiting for almost 2+ years.

We worked directly with our partner to resolve, a Acumatica ticket submitted which they confirmed the issue but no fix scheduled but thank you!

I’m curious when you ran into this issue and if it’s the same thing as my users are running into? We recently did an upgrade to 2025R2 and had the add-in working for around a week, but several users reported that it is no longer working. Currently, it is spinning and stuck loading on an all white screen. We are using modern authentication and went through all of the steps needed for the plug in to work in 2024R2.

What build are you on? We recently upgraded to 2025R2 to this build 25.200.0248.3 and it wouldn’t work so we reached out for our partner to setup Open ID etc.

We use Active Directory to login and were not able to work through it.  We also found out during the trouble shooting process that each AD user would need a Native User (both to have the same access and access to the outlook plugin).

Just to note in order to utilize the plugin users would have to login under their Native user account to grab the manifest (removing the older one of course) and upload the new manifest.  Then login to the outlook plugin with the Native credentials.  With more than 100 users it gets pretty hectic maintaining native and Active Directory user profiles while also securing the native account for security purposes.

We are using 25.201.0213. We are using Open ID for user authentication, but run into the same struggles as you with needing to maintain security for the native accounts as well so that they can authenticate for the Outlook add-in. Open ID for the add-in was already functioning under 2024R2 for us, but I’m unsure if our internal team tested the add-in after the recent upgrade.

I’m digging in to see how many of our users are running into this issue.

Did your users download the manifest from their native login and also login to the new plugin with those credentials?  I would suggest reaching out to your partner so they can confirm with Acumatica it is the Modern authentication issue.  This way your not spinning your wheels trouble shooting if indeed the solution is going to be baked into another patch or build.
