Looking for advice on the managing the Acumatica Push Notifications that covers the below details.

1. Ways to manage push notifications. How to identify the specific Push Notification that caused the issue on the Ques. The reason for the Ques not responding and finally why the data in the queue is deleted.

2. How to prevent loss of push notification information on the que due to issues.

I know this is an old thread, but thought I would add this KB Article:

The recommendations for GIs are a great reference when creating them, not just for troubleshooting.

Hi @ChandrasekharM

1. we can implement customization that reads the content from the Queue and shows it on screen or save it in a txt file.
2. No way to do that automatically. The best thing is to keep the GIs and PNs as clean as possible with less joins, etc. So that the process runs fine and is stable.

Hi @jinin  Do you have any Specific Acumatica Documentation for Administration of the Push Notifications.

Thanks

No @ChandrasekharM . We don't have any specific document for this.

@ChandrasekharM

Some info regarding this:

  • Excessive push notifications being sent to Acumatica can cause the queue to overload… and slow down other notifications or freeze.
You can see if you have this issue on the System Queues Monitor screen.
We’ve had this happen on a few clients and had to reach out to Acumatica support. They had clear the queue after which all of the push notifications were lost. It is possible that if a database backup is taken it will preserve the data (for dissecting it later). Apparently, there will be better management of this in future releases.
For now, best practice is to avoid setting automation schedules and external syncs too high to prevent this kind of error and to keep an eye on the System Queues Monitor and license limits when doing load tests.
  • Process Push Notifications (SM502000) allows you to see any push notification errors that were caught with errors. In addition, the Business Event History, All Emails, and any other logs should help backtrace in case your queue has been cleared and recovery is needed.

Hi @abahar14  Thanks for the details. I am also in touch with Acumatica Support on this. There seems to a plan to create a KB article to manage push notifications, per the the support team.

Thanks

Hi ,

Thank  you all for all those updates. I have learned a lot.

Just a quick note on PN. Please check the new futures/enhancements on 2022R1. Currently NP takes place for all fields where as in 2022R1 we now can specify the fields to track. This will certainly improve performance and queue management.

You can find further details here : https://help-2022r1.acumatica.com/(W(2))/Help?ScreenId=ShowWiki&pageid=9c311991-5a7c-4150-8e96-df0e2517b9f7

Cheers
