Hello Experts,

I described this problem in another post, but due to time constraints, I didn’t explain it clearly enough at the time.

The goal was to quickly find a workaround at that time. Now that we have a workaround, I hope more experts can help identify the root cause. Below is a detailed description:

Background:

  1. We recently upgraded from 2021r2 + Windows Server 2016 + SQL Server 2016 to 2024r2 + Windows Server 2022 + SQL Server 2022. The 2023r1 version appeared as an intermediate version during the upgrade process.
  2. Our site has 3 tenants, all using the exact same PO3020PL.
    • Two tenants can normally display PO3020PL and load PO-Receipts for editing on the generic inquiry page(SM651700).
    • One tenant encounters the following issues:
      • Directly accessing .../ScreenId=PO3020PL results in a timeout prompt.
      • When editing PO-Receipts on the generic inquiry edit page, once a selector is used to select a PO-Receipt, the page appears to freeze.
  3. For the problematic tenant, all other PL-series pages load normally.
  4. In the Access Right by Screen page(SM201020), I cannot find PO3020PL. However, when printing the Access Right by Screen Report (SM651700), it shows that I (as an admin) have delete permissions for PO3020PL.

Could anyone provide some suggestions? Any help is appreciated.

My large guess it is still an access right issue, it is not a data issue. if it is a data issue, it should not stop me from opening the inquiry in SM651700.

Hello Experts,

I probably find the casue, since tenant 1 is the oldest tenat, it might have some legacy data. like below, in tenant 1 (with issue) ,  PO-receipt is with empty site map title

While tenant 2 and 3 (without issue), PO-receipt is with site map title set.

So my question turns out to “since I can not load the  PO3020PL in inquiry editing page, how can I set the site map title for it”

Sorry, it is a wrong shoot. The fact that the "site map title" shows empty is by my work arounds.

As my study, site map and generic inquiry are using the “IDs” to relate each other.  To work around the time out issue, I recreated a new inquiry and copy its URL into PO3020PL.
Then the generic inquiry selector can not find the “site map title” by the new replaced id.

help still needed. Any help is appreciated.

To whom it may concern, I seem to have found the cause of the crash.

I created a new inquiry to replace the old PO3020PL. The query works perfectly, but when I try to select Purchase Receipts as the Entry Screen in the Entry Points tab, the page freezes, and I can’t save the changes.

This is why the old PO3020PL couldn’t load or even be edited.

Here’s some additional information: I repeated my upgrade steps, and now the new environment I’ve got doesn’t have this issue. It’s so strange and bizarre. But I can’t roll back because the new production environment has been running for several days, and my workaround seems okay for now. However, how can I solve this problem fundamentally? God help me.

@ray20 If you filtered your generic inquiry down (i.e. add a condition so that you only get receipts for the last 12 months instead of all time) does that resolve your timeout issue?

@meganfriesen37 No, Acutally it is not datasize issue. I created a new inquiry to search out all Purchase Receipts records, it would be done within 1 sec.  I think there is something to do with Acumatica GI detection technology with the origianl PO3020PL inquiry.
