Will a Shopify refund Void the Payment on the same day? Currently, the sales order is canceled, but the payment is not voided. Will the system automatically void the payment once the order is canceled in Shopify, or are there any specific steps that need to be followed?

Shopify voids a payment if it is authorized and the order is cancelled in their system (https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/fulfillment/managing-orders/canceling-orders). When I test in my shopify store, the payment is voided right away even if the order is cancelled after 5 mins.
If this is not happening on Shopify, then I would recommend to reach out to Shopify support → they can give you a better answer.
If the issue is with the import of order in ERP, when we re-import the cancelled order using the refund entity, the original payment gets voided.
Can you please advise:
- Was the original payment imported using Shopify payment processing centre?
- Was the original payment still authorized in ERP at the time when the order was re-imported using refund entity? You can check in the Card Processing tab for more information. If the original payment is authorized at the time when voiding is imported from Shopify, the card processing tab shows the following sequence of events:
