How to manually sync Shopify orders when sync status = aborted

I have several Sales Orders from Shopify that failed to sync >5 times. Now in aborted status. Can’t work out how to sync them manually. I tried moving one Set as Prepared, which returned it to Failed Status. Then tried to Sync it from there. Same error – “The status of the #### order does not allow modifications. Please synchronize records manually.” What is the correct manual method?

@GillianMcC , this happens when you have something in Shopify that makes updates to the order after it’s fulfilled (for example, a shipping integration that updates the order history, or something like that). So, the connector (in Acumatica) reads that something has changes with the order, and tries to import that into Acumatica, but the order in Acumatica is already Completed, and therefore non-modifiable.

What you do in this case? Mark the sync record as “Set as Processed”. And that’s it. :)

@GillianMcC , the correct manual method is:

  1. Go to SYNC HISTORY
  2. Go to ABORTED
  3. Find the order you want to force sync
  4. Click the checkbox on the left of the line
  5. Click SYNC button

You mentioned a few strange outcomes:

  1. I tried moving one Set as Prepared, which returned it to Failed Status.    Does this happens immediately after you set it as prepared? Or after the sync process runs?
  2. “The status of the #### order does not allow modifications. Please synchronize records manually.”    This error usually indicates that you already have an order in Acumatica, and that order is locked for editing (it’s in Shipping, Completed, Invoiced, etc. status).

I think for the community to provide a bit better guidance, we would appreciate screenshots from your SYNC HISTORY screen, from Sales Orders (screen), and anything in between (steps you took, results observed, etc.).

Even without the above suggested screenshots, I hope that my thoughts can be somewhat helpful.

Best regards and happy 4th!

The status of the #### order does not allow modifications. Please synchronize records manually.

Hi Yuri and Manikanta,

I checked the details re the Sales Orders in Aborted that won’t sync. All the ones with the error message (re modifications not possible) have been paid and fulfilled in Shopify and their Sales Orders are complete in Acumatica.

The 2 I re-tested (re: Set as Prepared), did not go to Failed until I tried to Sync them. Now they are sitting in Ready to Process and Failed status.

As the orders were paid and fulfilled, do I leave them as Aborted or set them to Skip? Do they just stay in limbo forever?

@GillianMcC Alternatively, you can select the sync records and take the Skip action. This is remove those records from Aborted status and the connector will not process again.
