We have been testing the BigCommerce B2B customization on Acumatica 23R1 ahead of launching our BigC store, and we have seen a lot of issues with it. I was wondering if others have run into these problems and have a way of dealing with it or even just a better way of thinking about these problems so that we can live with them.

  1. We find it confusing that the main contact rather than the primary contact (except for the primary contact name) is used as the first admin info in BigC and don’t know how to treat the primary contact in Acumatica to make this less confusing.
  2. We also find it confusing that the 2nd rather than the 1st main contact phone number is synced to BigC.
  3. We don’t know how to handle the possibility of a customer deleting the first admin in their company in BigCommerce B2B since that is how the connector is connecting the customer in Acumatica to the company in BigC.
  4. We have noticed many, many issues with modifying existing customer data in either Acumatica or BigC. The data is frequently not synced as expected. For example, if you modify the main contact email address or primary contact name in Acumatica, those changes get overwritten by what is in BigC B2B. Also the connector will not notice that a customer needs to be resynced if you only modify contact data (for contacts other than the main contact).
  5. Frequently any weird situation causes the connector to create a duplicate contact in Acumatica.

@tararosenthal , your concerns / issues are valid and we bumped into them before. You have three options basically:

  1. Find workarounds, which means letting go off some syncs that you were hoping to have.
  2. Customize the connector (use your VAR for that or hire an Acumatica developer - we can help).
  3. See if there aren’t newer versions of this customization (sometimes BC adds new functionality and fixes previous issues in new releases).

I personally feel your pain, and am happy to help with whatever you mind need help for.

@tararosenthal , since the customization package for B2B edition is delivered by BigCommerce themselves, you will be better off sharing your concerns and questions with your BigCommerce representative and getting connected to their B2B team. If you haven’t gone that route, I would highly recommend it.

@Yuri Karpenko We have been in contact with them, but they are very unresponsive. It seems like people post about this in the Acumatica community as if it’s mostly a non-issue to use this customization, so I was just wondering if we weren’t thinking about it the right way.

We are learning we cannot do many things we want to do in Big Commerce without significant and complicaterd customizations.  We are going to investigate Shopify to see if we can achieve more of our goals without such massive and complicated customizations.

Wanted to add an update to this. We have been in touch with BigCommerce and they are attempting to fix issues for us, however the process is slow and things haven’t really worked out as we expected them to. We are going to try to live with it while formatting our customer data how native Acumatica expects it for the syncing process to keep things more consistent. Ultimately, it’s confusing, complicated, and imperfect, and it will most likely remain that way until Acumatica provides native B2B support.

Hi @tararosenthal , just checking in to see if you have found things improve? We are going live with Acumatica at the end of the year and will be syncing with our existing BigCommerce store. I’m also reviewing the B2B edition but not sure we are ready for it yet.

We want to move from regular Big Commerce to Big Commerce B2B.  But we are too concerned about these syncing / mapping issues.

Hello @Schacht, we are using BigCommerce’s customization package, currently maintained by a third-party group. It’s not perfect, but we are getting by with it.

Unfortunately, if we update email addresses/names/phone numbers of users in Acumatica or BigCommerce, we have to manually update in the other system as the syncs only get triggered on one user per company in BigC, and the email address/name for the primary user (first admin) in BigC does not get updated when it is changed in Acumatica. I have tests running to check for other errors, but mostly it is working okay.

We only have B2B customers, so it made sense for us to move forward with it despite its problems. It’s not unmanageable, but I’m concerned about what will happen when we need to upgrade to 25R1.

The third-party group maintaining the customization currently is less reliable than the BigCommerce employee who was previously maintaining the customization package, and I’m not sure if they will be able to update the customization to support 25R1 without causing a lot of other issues. I tried to use one of their newer versions of the customization, which supposedly fixed a bug, but it also renamed all of the custom fields in the database and only transferred over the old values into the new fields for a few of the fields, which made it essentially unusable. I have emailed them twice about this, but they haven’t gotten back to me. We are using an older version of the customization from when it was still maintained by the BigCommerce employee, and it’s still working through 24R2.

I can give a lot more details if needed. Feel free to message me with any questions.

@tararosenthal , thanks for your response and post. You mentioned: “The third-party group maintaining the customization currently is less reliable than the BigCommerce employee who was previously maintaining the customization package,...”

What is the company name of that third party group, please?

@TeaBrew, I don’t think it matters anymore. A full native B2B connector for BigCommerce is available as of 26R2 which is out now. Just wait until you can get on 26R2 and you’ll be able to use something that makes much more sense.

Do you know where we can read about the new native B2B connector in 2026 R2?

My current issue is that BigCommerce “Growth” (right before Enterprise tier, and below B2B)
does not support “company with contact” integration with Acu 2025R1.

I am having to retain Kensium to do this with their “Better B2B” product.
I think, possibly incorrectly, that Kensium developed the original Commerce connector for Acumatica.
Wondering if there is a separate connector that will support both company and contact integration in 2026R2, or if it’s also a Kensium-developed product.

@DJMcBride, you can find a lot of information in the initial release notes documentation for 26R2. You can find it on this page: Acumatica 2026 R2 Downloads and Release Notes | Community

@TeaBrew, I’m sorry; we use BigCommerce B2B, so I can’t speculate on that. However, we decided not to pursue the Kensium solution as it looked quite shoddy compared to the BigCommerce B2B solution which looks much more professional. Additionally, it was missing a vital function, the ability for a customer to use a new credit card when checking out in BigCommerce, and they charged us to develop this basic functionality while we were exploring it as a solution.

The solution we are using now until we can get on 26R2 is a customization that works specifically with BigCommerce B2B APIs, so I doubt it would work out of the box for your use case.

I have also heard that Kensium developed the original BigCommerce B2B application and connector and it was bought by BigCommerce. However, BigCommerce has been working on it fully independently since then and made a lot of improvements to it. Kensium is not involved at all with the native B2B connector in Acumatica in 26R2. It was developed in-house by Acumatica developers, and it is much more thoughtfully constructed than something by Kensium.
