Hello @skumar98 ,

Generic Inquiries may be used as a source for an Acumatica Report Designer report:

Export GI as a Report

Standard Acumatica Reports may be Edited and copied, to use as a source for your custom reports.

Users in Report Designer Role may Edit standard reports.

@skumar98 When you create a pivot off a GI, you are using only the data in the GI to power the pivot, but a report can be built off anything and is nearly limitless on what you can do within Report Designer.

You can bring in tables to the report, create variables based off equations being used, utilize an almost completely different data set as a subreport and embed this within the report to display specific data in a specific format.

You can also create custom SQL tables and SQL views to use within the reports, not to mention that the reports have access to different function sets and expanded functionality vs what is seen in a GI.

I would recommend to check out the Report Designer course in the university which can step you through the report creation process.

As Laura mentioned, it can be a good idea to review similar reports to what you’re trying to build so you can get ideas and inspiration.

Additionally you can ask follows ups in the community or create support cases where we can try to provide guidance (custom reports are not included in the scope of support though, so depending on the request, the recommendations can be fairly broad).
