We are looking at the use of Ai to extract data from our production orders and put out in a BI tool the work that each work centre is working on, the current amount of hours done, and whether they are on target or not.
Has anyone done this yet? and if so, what tools were found to be the best for doing it?
You could use some fairly OOTB features of Claude via MCP such as Playwright to do it, although, I do not think AI would be your best option.
You would be much better off using an automation tool, Power Automate, Zapier, Make.com etc. which would draw out the data based on a REST call, then put the data in an external DB that you have linked to PowerBI.

I’d also suggest including tools like AWS Lambda and Azure Functions in your research. The long-term costs of the other platforms mentioned could be high, depending on various factors.
