Report an old field value in a Notification?

My company would like to send out email notifications if the cost of certain items has changed.

Ideally, the notification would include a table with a format similar to the following. But I have not found a way to access the “old” cost once the value in the cost field has changed.

Item Code Old Cost New Cost
ABC123 $1.00 $2.00

Is there any way to report the previous field value within a notification?

Thanks!

Hi,

In order to record changes to a field, turn on the Audit feature (User Security → Preferences → Audit) for the screen where you see the Cost field that you are trying to capture (Cost/Price tab of Stock Items).

A notification, report, or GI showing the old and new  costs will need to use the fields shown in the Audit History screen.

Hi  @damonb56 ,

You can reference original field values on the notification template.  Use Insert-->Previous Datafield to find the field.

The business event should be of the type “Trigger by Record Change”.

Hope this helps!

Thank you both. The PREVIOUS DATAFIELD seems to do the trick.
