On the refreshable excel reports , I downloaded in excel and changed the formatting , when refreshed it changed the format again.

How to retain the formatting even after refresh ?

You can’t; that’s a limitation of the simple Excel export. Velixo for Acumatica is a tool that would allow you to refresh any Excel report and maintin the exact layout and formatting you designed.
