Hello,

So, I have built this GI, and I add attribute to my column. I am trying to group with the attribute, but I can find it in the grouping data. Is there a way around this. This the AttributePARENTROLL.

Hi @SandyA,

You can join AttributeId from CSAnswer to the actual AttributeID as in below screenshot.

This will give you the desired output, group by PARENTROLL.

@SandyA You’ll probably have to add CSAnswers table and join it in to be able to group on it.

Hi @SandyA ,

Adding to what @BenjaminCrisman said, when joining on the CSAnswers table you should also include AttributeID as another row on the relation, otherwise the query will return all of the attributes that are defined for the customer.  The  join would be Parent Field = ‘PARENTROLL’ , Child Field = CSAnswers.AttributeID and the grouping would be on CSAnswers.Value .

Hope this helps!

Laura

@SandyA

Use the CSAnswers table as a workaround:

  1. Add CSAnswers to the Tables tab.
  2. Create a Left Join using:
    • Main table NoteID = CSAnswers.RefNoteID
  3. Add another relation condition:
    • CSAnswers.AttributeID = PARENTROLL
  4. On the Grouping tab, select:
    • CSAnswers.Value
  5. In the Results Grid, use CSAnswers.Value instead of the virtual AttributePARENTROLL field.
