Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding the Historical Inventory Valuation report.

When we create an invoice and ship the items, the transaction will reflect the Sales Amount in the report. However, I would like to understand whether this transaction should also reduce the Receipt Amount in the report, or whether the Receipt Amount should remain unchanged.

Currently, the Receipt Amount is not displayed in the report, so I would appreciate it if someone could clarify how the Receipt Amount is supposed to work in this scenario.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Im sorry the typo in header, it should be “Receipt amount not display” not “Issue”

@AsyraafAdlan65 No, the sale doesn't reduce Receipt. It should remain unchanged.

Each line on this report is one financial period. Receipt shows the cost of purchase receipts and inventory receipts posted in that period. When you ship and invoice, the cost of the goods goes into the Sale column for that period and End Cost/Qty. drops by the same amount. A purchase return lowers Receipt. A sale doesn't.

That's why Receipt can look empty. If you received the stock in an earlier period than the sale, that receipt is already inside Beg. Cost/Qty. on the sale's line, so Receipt shows 0 there. Move Start Period back to the period you received the stock and that period's line will show it.

Two things worth knowing while you check. The Sale column is the inventory cost of what shipped, not the invoice amount. If your opening stock was loaded with inventory adjustments rather than receipts, it shows under Adjustment, never Receipt.

To see the transactions behind any number, run the report with Format set to Detail and an Inventory ID. Each line lists the Ref. Nbr. and Tran. Type.

Checked against 2026 R1.

Hi @Steve Milner , thanks for you explaination

Based on the Inventory Transaction Detail, I noticed this Receipt & Invoice transaction recorded in same period which is 04-2026. And the Sale Shipping also already completed. But is it possible the reason Receipt column looks empty, is due to Sale transaction also recorded in same period?
