Hi All,

I am trying to get my generic inquiry to do two things that I am not understanding…

  1. Grouping the items from the bom into a grouping in some way so that it doesn't look like i need the same weldment 36 times

  1. Also, this is what it is generating

when the BOM i am working with is

It seems to be changing the work center on the second operation and is doubling how many times it is showing it.

Any suggestions are helpful at this point or if more screenshots are needed please let me know!

It is difficult to pinpoint what is causing the duplication without knowing what the GI itself looks like. Are you able to provide the XML export of the GI?

There are many, many factors that could cause doubling if the filters and grouping are not set properly depending on what DACs are being joined.

@plambert This is the RPX exported from the GI. Will this work? Thank you for the help with this!

Thank you, that file provides much more detail. There are a few things I can see initially:

AMBomItem, AMBomOper, AMBomMatl joins

You have joined both BomOper and BomMatl directly to BomItem by the BOMID. Considering your scenario where you have multiple operations and materials, this will cause some unwanted duplications. Instead, expand BomItem by BomOper, then BomOper by BomMatl to properly list the materials needed for each operation. Also, when working with BOMs, make sure to include the RevisionID as both part of the BOM joins and include the BOM revision at the time of the production order. Otherwise, when/if that BOM is updated then this GI would be including both the old and new revisions.

See attached for these adjustments. I don’t have a good data set to test for multiple work centers and operations, but I believe this will straighten out the duplication you are seeing.
