Hello -

I am hoping to run a Generic Inquiry for Users be User Role. We have about 30 corporate users with access to every single user role. When sorting be user role in the ‘User List’ report, I try to add a filter that User Role Does Not Equal CORP (the user role all corp users have), yet it still returns the corp users when filtering by other user roles. Because of this I was hoping to build a generic inquiry that I can run by user role, but am not seeing a predefined one. Is there a table I can add to the default “Users” Generic Inquiry that would also pull in each users User Role?

Thanks!

@mdyer Have you looked into the UsersInRoles table? It lists all users and has a line for each role they have assigned to them.

Hey Benjamin - Sorry! New to building the GIs on my own. I have the UsersInRoles table flowing, but it is currently pulling in every user per role, not just the users assigned to the specific role. How would I go about joining it to a a clause saying the user is assigned to this role?

Hi MDyer! When I look at the DAC vs the User Roles in the system, the DAC is only displaying the Usernames that have been assigned to the specific User Role. Example:

Sales Demo data + my personal Admin User

The Sales Demo snapshot has many Users, but when I filter the DAC for the Administrator Role, the table only displays the three Users assigned to the Role. Isn’t this the desired outcome?

Thanks @bcoutermash09! I think I am doing something wrong with my Generic Inquiry then. Would you be able to provide the GI you used in the first screen shot?
