Dynamic Link not working in email template

Question

Good afternoon,I am working with an email template that contains a dynamic link to a specific employee timecard. The link looks correct in Outlook but clicking it takes me to the oldest record I have access to rather than the one specified. I used the “Get Link”>External feature from the record I needed and then added the TimecardCD to the end of the link. My link the in the email:[site-url]&ScreenId=EP305000&PopupPanel=Inline&TimeCardCD=((EPTimeCard_timeCardCD))This correctly displays in the sent email as: [site-url]&ScreenId=EP305000&PopupPanel=Inline&TimeCardCD=0000040Hovering over the link in email also shows the correct URL. When I click the link, the URL bar briefly shows the following:[site-url]&ScreenId=EP305000&PopupPanel=Inline&TimeCardCD=%E2%80%8B0000040And takes me to timecard 0000005 instead. We are using the modern UI in 2026R1.

@dgranger70 %E2%80%8B is a zero-width space, URL-encoded. It's invisible, so the link looks right in Outlook and on hover. But the key Acumatica receives is TimeCardCD=[invisible character]0000040. No time card has that ID, so you never land on 0000040.

It comes from the template editor. In the Modern UI, Insert Data Field puts a zero-width space on each side of the field it adds. In body text you'd never notice. Inside a URL it breaks the key.

The fix is to type the placeholder by hand instead of inserting it. bwhite49's HTML route does exactly that, and it's how Acumatica's own system templates build record links (AP Bill, AR Invoice, the CR notifications, all bare ((...)) placeholders inside the href). Because the character is invisible, don't edit around the old field. Open the HTML view, delete everything from TimeCardCD= to the end of the link, and retype it:

Save, send yourself a test, and click the link. If the address bar no longer shows %E2%80%8B, you're set.
