We gave a pay advance to an employee and set the deduction limit to $160. He had 2 paychecks of $80 each but then it didn't stop it still pulled another $80 out on the next paycheck. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? The deduction limit frequency is set to No maximum.
Payroll deduction limit

Yes - if you’ve set it up as a deduction and benefit code and it’s applied to the employee payroll record, then it will just keep going. If you set the limit frequency to per pay period, it will take that amount each pay, or if you set it to calendar year, it will take that amount then stop for the rest of this year, and take it again as soon as you start payroll for 2027.
The safest way to end date it for this particular employee is to set the end date on the Deduction & Benefits tab of the Employee Payroll Record, and then it will also stop calculating the next time you run pay.
Hope that helps!
