Hi, another beginner's question to you experts and if this is covered, my apologies and please direct me to the correct reference.  We have multiple tenants in our production environment.  I recently made change to a Genera Inquiry in one of the tenants and same change is not visible in other tenants? Do I have to make the change in each Tenant or there is an easier way to cascade the change down to other tenants?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, the GI is tenant specific.  You can use the Export feature (drop down from clipboard icon) to save the GI as an XML file, and then go to the other tenant and use the Import to bring it in.

That’s probably the easiest way, and no customization project needed in that case.

If you want the same Generic Inquiry across multiple tenants, the usual approach is to export the GI from the source tenant and import it into the other tenants rather than manually rebuilding it.

Typically:

  1. In the source tenant, open Generic Inquiry (SM208000).
  2. Export the Generic Inquiry definition.
  3. Log into the target tenant.
  4. Import the Generic Inquiry definition.
  5. Verify any tenant-specific details such as company restrictions, access rights, parameters, or filters.

For a change that needs to be maintained across many tenants, you may want to consider putting the GI into an Acumatica customization project/package. That gives you a more controlled way of deploying the same configuration to multiple tenants, particularly when the GI is part of a broader customization.

One thing to watch out for: GI ownership and access rights can affect what users see, so simply moving the GI definition may not reproduce every aspect of the source tenant's setup.
