Stock Item - Conversion Factor change on in use material

We recently had a vendor change how they were selling some of their material and we wanted to update the Conversion Factor on the Stock Item to match the changes. Currently the material is on several orders and it errors saying “The unit conversion cannot be modified because it is currently in use in the following document -***”. Is there a way around this without having to remove the material from all the Purchase and Sales orders or some way to make it apply going forward or is removal the only way?

You can add another conversion representing the changes, so that it will not affect your previous pending transactions using this specific Stock Item.

Hello @nheinber ,

Another option might be to create a new UOM with a new conversion factor if applicable in your case. There are no other ways to work around this restriction.

Hi @nheinber

You should navigate to the ‘Purchase Accrual Balance by Period’ inquiry. You receive these errors because the documents are not fully closed, although the status may be closed.
