Several MRP Issues in 24R2

Has anyone else been experiencing significant issues with MRP in 24R2 (particularly 24.211.0024)?

  • Could not create production orders from MRP - fixed by upgrading to 24.211.0024
  • MRP recommending incorrect action dates - fixed with hotfix
  • Overhead calculations incorrect causing a workaround to be applied - unsolved, waiting on Acumatica RnD team (not MRP related but thought I’d mention this also)
  • MRP recommending too many orders due to the system subtracting (1) from every existing order already on the floor (basically, the system does not even see an open order for qty 1 of a part, if qty is 2 it only sees 1) - unsolved, waiting on Acumatica RnD team

This last one has potential to cause significant disruptions for our business due to MRP recommending too many orders, causing confused priorities on the shop floor and creating false late orders.

Hi ​@danielklumpp ,

The Action Date issue has been fixed in Build 24.213.0018 or later.

I haven’t run across the other issues that you mention, but thanks for sharing.

Acumatica Support reports that only one other customer has reported the last issue above.  I’m hoping this post will cause others that may not realize it that MRP is planning incorrectly due to not recognizing existing quantities on orders.  If we are the only two customers out there with this issue, I’m concerned as to what is different about our instances that is causing the problem.

Just learned this today: This issue, per below, appears to be occurring for a customer of ours, on Build 24.213.0018.

We were one of the first to report the issue, and the RnD team created a hotfix for 24.211.0024, which may or may not apply to 24.213.0018.  They should be able to provide a solution quickly though since they just built the hotfix for our version.
