Hello,

When I am creating production orders from different screens, the default scheduling method value is different.

Is there someone who knows how this value gets defaulted exactly?

Thank You!

When a production order is created as supply for a demand document, it defaults to finish on so that the production can be planned to be completed before the due date of the demand document.

When you create a production order from scratch it defaults to start on.

There may be other use cases - but that is the general idea.

Hi @apallawala22

There is no setting that changes the default value in this box, so it requires a small customization.
I've generated code for you with AI. It might not be perfect, but it works the way you need.

using PX.Data;
using PX.Objects.AM;
using PX.Objects.CS;

namespace VB.Manufacturing
{
public class ProdMaintExt : PXGraphExtension<ProdMaint>
{
public static bool IsActive() =>
PXAccess.FeatureInstalled<FeaturesSet.manufacturing>();

protected virtual void _(Events.FieldDefaulting<AMProdItem, AMProdItem.schedulingMethod> e)
{
if (e.Row == null) return;

e.NewValue = "F"; // ScheduleMethod.FinishOn
e.Cancel = true; // skip the standard PXDefault source
}
}
}

You need to create a package and add a code file to it, then replace its content with the code from above.
Or you can use the attached package, where I did exactly the same for testing.
