Role required for Product Configurator use?

Hi there,

Which Role do I need to grant a user so that they can use the Product Configurator in a Sales Order to configure an item? When they click the Configure button to launch Configuration Entry, they get this “Error: You have insufficient rights to access the object (ConfigurationEntry).”

Thank you!

Jon

Here’s how you can check, if you have the Administrator role.

On the Configuration Entry screen, click Tools » Access Rights which will open the Access Rights screen.

Then on the Access Rights column, uncheck “Revoked” and click OK to see all roles that have some access.

Now you can give your user one of these roles, or remove the filter and change one of the roles that the user already has, to something besides “Revoked”.

Does that make sense?

Hi Michael,

This is exactly what I needed! I changed the various SO Roles’ Access Rights for the Configuration Entry screen to Delete and it worked perfectly. We are mid-implementation and I am the Admin-to-be for our company, so I expect to be haunting this forum frequently for the next few years.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out!

Jon

The Configuration Entry screen is in the Hidden area of the Access rights because it is not on a menu.
