Reversing Quarantine Scrap using Negative Move Issue

Some context - We are a high volume production transaction location and we scrap/reject off work orders to either scrap or rework locations. We quarantine scrap to be able to rework it if necessary. At end of month we purge our scrap locations (issue out of system) to record the expense on our P&L.

However we seem to have ran into an issue since we went live in 2022 when we do a negative move that is scrap (we call these negative scrap transactions). We do this to try and reverse the move transaction when there is an error/mistake when it was created/posted. Acumatica doesn’t seem to like this very much as it doesn’t correctly reverse the posted transactions, reverse the inventory, or update the Work Order Totals. Every time this happens (a lot) we have manually reverse the inventory back into WIP, post an opposite transaction WIP adjustment to correct Work Order Totals, check to see if the Applied Overheard reversed correctly (Cost transaction), and finally many any Adjusting Journal entry when a third account (cost adjustment for standard cost differences or related cost variances) just to reverse 1 bad scrap transaction. Sometimes we still see large variances that occur that may not be true as we catch what we can.

The purpose of this thread is to see if anyone else that uses the manufacturing module of Acumatica and quarantines scrap has ran into or is also having this problem.

@dtatum If my understanding is correct, you are trying to reverse your scrap entry for an production order and when you are reversing it GL of order Scrap is not matching with original GL transaction?

Are you having any backflush of material, Labors or any overhead charges in that scrap move transaction?
