in a manufacturing environment:

Hello, we need to be able to import BOM as the cost base into either estimate or quote or any other window, then mark up labor cost and material cost and any other markup for sales quote purpose.

i.e. BOM1, with 2 ops center A & B, and raw materials 8 & 9

once we import bom1, markup op center A by 25% and B by 30%, etc..

Any direction and instruction highly appreciated .. thank you

Zoey

Zoey - you are able to copy an existing BOM into the Estimate using the Actions menu. Once you copy in the BOM - you are able to tweak the BOM and put a markup on it to come up with an Estimated price.

Thank you Debbie,

I Guess the operation in time order in one logic will be:

  1. BOM ( Mfg cost basis)
  2. Estimate ( copy from BOM) to tweak the markup
  3. opportunity/quote( linked to estimate ID) for specific customer tweak..

it looks like in order to create a quote, we first have to create an opportunity first? am i correct?

thank you

Zoey

Hi Zoe,

That’s correct.  A quote should be tied to an opportunity.
