When I create a Production Order for a specific assembly, the system grabs a BOM that is NOT set as the default. What am I doing wrong? Why doesn’t the RO use the default BOM? I’m assuming there is a setting somewhere I’m missing...Thanks!!

If you have Multiple Warehouses you may have a default BOM set at the Warehouse level. Check your Item Warehouse Detail if this is configured.

That was it - brilliant! I’m learning that “default” doesn’t always mean what I think it means :-)

Is there a hierarchy to the defaults? Sounds like Item Warehouse overrides Stock Item settings?

@jbedwards - In general

  1. Item Class (sets defaults for item)
  2. Item (sets defaults for item warehouse detail)
  3. Item Warehouse Detail  (information specified here is used by most processes)
