Hello,

Is there any current functionality that allows for item substitution on a PO?

PO = Production Order?

You can issue material not on the BOM if you have preference configured to allow it.

The material on a BOM has effectivity dates if one material is being replaced by another.

A purchase order.

Example:

Engineers create a bom
Purchasing creates a PO but the vendor suggests a replacement item.

Is there any sort of Inventory planning substitution for the purchased item?

@jsherman21

If you're creating a PO and the vendor suggests a replacement item, Acumatica allows you to manually substitute items, but there’s no automatic substitution yet.

  • You can set up substitute items using the Related Items feature in the Stock Item screen.
  • When creating a PO or Sales Order, Acumatica will show related items, and you can manually choose to substitute.
  • There's no current functionality where Acumatica will automatically replace an item based on vendor input or inventory planning
