Is there a way in the MFG BOM to have the Component flagged to only pull from Lot number?

In other ERP systems ( like GP) , there is a single lot feature.

Goal is have MRP understand that our component can only be consumed from one lot.

Hi good morning,

After investigation, there is no native way in Acumatica Manufacturing to flag a BOM component to only consume from a specific Lot number. This concept does not exist at the BOM level or within MRP planning logic in Acumatica.

As Acumatica MRP plans Items by Warehouse, not by Lot. There is no mechanism to tell MRP "only count Lot X as valid supply for this component requirement."

Lot assignment only comes into play after MRP runs -- at the Production Order material issue stage — where a user can manually pre-assign a lot to consume via Line Details.

One additional manual option worth noting: The approved lot can be moved into a dedicated warehouse location, and that specific location can be set as the only MRP-visible location for that component. This would cause MRP to only see and plan against the approved lot's quantity.

Recommendation: This would be a valuable enhancement to submit as a Community Idea on the Acumatica portal.
