Messed up a production move transaction

I have a production order with multiple moves, on two of those operations I produced two more units than planned for.  EX.  operation one planned: 25,  made: 27.  operation two, planned 25, made 27.  operation 3  planned 25 made 25.  The production order completed at 25 and it got closed, the extra two units never made it through the final operation and are now sitting in the WIP account.  Is there a way to clean this up?

It is my first time using multilevel BOMs in a production order and this is the first big mistake that has come up.  Thanks!

Once the Production Order is closed it cannot be reopened.

We introduced the concept of locking a Production Order for this reason a few releases ago.  This prevents anyone from transaction against the Production Order while Cost Accountant reviews it before performing the close process.

What happens to the inventory for the extra items produced?  Are they just held in WIP?

You could adjust them into inventory.

And then create a journal entry to offset the WIP account.

I am not an accountant - so please validate with someone who is.
