Hi,

While releasing “Materials” transaction for Non-stock items , no inventory transactions (issue transactions) get recorded however for “Purchase Receipt” there is inventory transaction (receipt) get created. Is it expected behavior or I am missing something ?

I have observed that scenario in 25R1.

Please help me

@ssarda48

Yes, this is the expected behavior.

During the Purchase Receipt process, this occurs because the Require Receipt checkbox is enabled on the Stock Item.

However, when you create a Production Material transaction, the transaction is posted directly to the General Ledger (GL). You can review the corresponding value in the Materials GL transactions.

Thanks @ranjithduraisamy72 for quick reply,

Just a heads up, purchase receipt is working without require receipt as well.

Now, my point is that what’s use of making a one side INTran table entry if no issue transactions are getting recorded? Is it somehow help or showed in some report ?

@ssarda48 During the Purchase Receipt process, Acumatica provides the option to validate only the receipt quantity. In this case, the system allows you to create the Purchase Receipt document, but it does not create an Inventory Receipt transaction in the background. As a result, the Purchase Receipt is recorded, but no corresponding Inventory transaction is generated for non Stock items.

@ranjithduraisamy72  It is creating Inventory Receipt transaction.

@ssarda48 Sorry, you are right. The transaction is created, but since it is a non-stock item, it does not have any impact on inventory. The associated GL transaction is posted directly to the Expense account rather than the Inventory account, so there is no impact on the inventory side.
