The purpose of the Production Costing Whitepaper is to help users understand how Acumatica collects manufacturing costs and calculates the cost of an item produced via a production order.

Upon completing the whitepaper, the reader should be comfortable with the following concepts:

  1. How financial information flows through a production order
  2. How production orders collect costs
  3. How Acumatica calculates the cost of an item produced from a(n) Actual, Estimated, or Standard Costing Production Order
  4. How scrap costs are calculated and processes

This knowledge can be applied it to by-products, and disassembly production orders but these topics are not directly covered within the whitepaper.

Angie, the PDF will certainly help the accounting impaired partners and customers understand production costing.  Sometimes clients even ask us why we need a PO Accrual account.
